Microteaching: Demonstrating how tasks can help integrate language skills



Again, the objective is to get the teachers busy walking, talking, looking for information and doing a little presentation. And, I finally figured out the right recipe for engaging students and getting them producing desirable outcomes in terms of language skills, which is in the following order: introducing the topic/arousing interesting of learning, thinking to themselves, discussing with each other, writing down their ideas and giving reports.

Using English to Teach English



When I have to introduce myself, I would usually say that I’m a crazy English learner. Indeed, I seldom allow my mind to go wander. When doing household chores, running on a treadmill or even taking a dump on the toilet, I must be listening to some English. On top of that, I’ll always have an English magazine with me, picking up useful expressions anytime and anywhere. Getting a lot of input intensively and extensively is how I maintain my level of English proficiency.

Prosperity Through Education and Love

Education is a valuable cornerstone for a city on its way to excellence. Love is the eternal star that marks education.
Because of love, we and our children have happy dreams. Because of Love, we encourage our children to harbor the determination to innovate and fully fulfill their potential to achieve self realization. The love for education, in my belief, is the most beautiful footnote for Taichung, a sunshine city filled with hope and energy.

Microteaching with TBL and Reading Strategies at NSJH



This time, I worked even harder on reading up as much as I can about reading strategies and putting all the resources together in order to create a complete lesson plan of microteaching mainly targeting important skills that help bolster reading comprehension. Once again, I feel thankful for the opportunity to not only benefit the participants of the workshop but more importantly, myself, in terms of self-growth.
