Necessity is the mother of invention."
Welcome to the PU English PedagogyPlaybook! This interactive website is your guide to the world of English Language Teaching methods. Journey through the historical timeline to see how pedagogical ideas have evolved, dive deep into each method's principles and techniques, and test your knowledge with our quizzes. When you're ready to bridge theory and practice, use the AI-powered 'Lesson Idea Generator' to create practical activities for your own future classroom. Let's begin exploring!
This website is the result of my first attempt to use Gemini Canvas, and I truly hope it will become a core part of my students' studies. I call it the PU
English Pedagogy Playbook. Inside, you'll find a growing library of
teaching methods, with each one broken down into:
- The Big Ideas: Core principles, pros, and cons to
help you think critically.
- In the Classroom: Practical techniques and examples of
what the method actually looks like in action.
- Check Your Knowledge: Fun, interactive quizzes that give
you immediate feedback and detailed explanations, so you learn as you go.
But there’s one feature I’m really proud of.
For me, this is the real game-changer.
Meet Your New AI Lesson-Planning Partner
We’ve all been there. You understand a
method in theory, but then comes the hard part: how do you actually apply the
"Silent Way" to a lesson on, say, "ordering food at a
restaurant"?
This is where the magic happens. On each
method’s page, you’ll find a "Lesson Idea Generator." Powered
by AI, this little tool lets you type in any topic you can think of. In
seconds, it generates a creative lesson plan packed with activity ideas, all
perfectly tailored to the specific method you're exploring. It’s designed to be
a spark for your own creativity, helping you bridge that final gap between
knowing a method and owning it.
My hope is that this website becomes more
than just a study guide. I want it to be a sandbox for you to play in, a
resource you’ll come back to long after you’ve graduated, and a little
testament to the amazing things that can happen when education and technology
team up.
