Adaptive Learning Pilot School Program: Teaching Demonstration with Adjectives of Emotions

"Hold on. The voice-over sounds so familiar. Teacher, is that you? Yeah, It IS you."

It took my four gifted students a while to finally decide that I made the video. They felt amused because I didn't sound like me. As they watched it again, it was a bit cringey because they couldn't stop giggling.

The purpose of this teaching demonstration is to help promote Adaptive Learning. I submitted a lesson plan and discussed it with Prof. Wang beforehand. She then suggested cutting two learning objectives because they were more of scaffolding.

The topic of the class is adjectives of emotions. My students were busy recognizing and matching the adjectives with the five main categories from the movie, Inside Out. They then completed a paragraph using the assigned emotions, Joy, Sadness, and Anger, to describe an unforgettable moment in life.

"I learned about this fabulous platform for autonomous learning today. It'll help many students who are interested in learning English." " I liked the interesting story and explanation from our teacher." "Rewatching the video at our pace is a good idea."
